Meet The Team

Meet our Friendly Staff in South Edmonton!

Dr. Kim Boldt

General Dentist

Wife, Mother, Friend, General Dentist

Two main reasons why I became a dentist in the first place are:

  1. When I was a child I had less-than-fun experiences with the dental therapists who worked out of my elementary school in Saskatchewan, and thought I could do better.

  2. When I was in high school I admired my dentist who used her vacation time to go overseas and do free dental work for underprivileged people.

I have been on two dental mission trips (to Honduras and Sri Lanka) and continue to strive to be empathetic and enthusiastic with all patients, especially children.

How becoming a dentist improved my own health:

  1. I was unaware that it is not normal nor healthy for gums to bleed, so I started flossing daily, taking food supplements, and breathing through my nose.

  2. In addition to causing dried-out lips and bleeding gums, my lifelong chronic mouth-breathing had led to recurrent colds and ear infections, snoring, itchy hands, and the inability to run for long or to swim underwater.

Once I started using dental trainers and expansion appliances to widen my own smile and airway, I could finally breathe though my nose and my quality of life improved greatly. Now I love running, singing, the ocean and watching my nose-breathing daughters dance!

Living and practising in Summerside is a dream come true. I’m delighted to chat with you at the school, grocery store, beach club or anywhere in our growing community!

Dr. Nina Valiushka

General Dentist

My name is Dr. Nina Valiushka and I graduated from the Belarussian State Medical University Dental School in 1993 with Distinction. Soon after finishing the Clinical Residency at the University Hospital, I became a clinical instructor at the dental school as well as maintained my private practice.

Dentistry is a passion for my whole family, with me being a third generation dentist and my daughter going on to be the fourth!  She will graduate from the University of Melbourne Dental school in 2019.

In 2005, I moved to Canada with my two gorgeous children, and in 2014 I completed the National Dental Examining Board of Canada Equivalency process to practice dentistry in Canada. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of the dental field, especially working with children of all ages, doing endodontic procedures as well as cosmetic dentistry.

I am a very family oriented individual, and I am grateful for the amazing friends that I have in my life. In my spare time I love gardening and pride myself on having a beautiful orchid collection. I enjoy traveling and meeting new people while experiencing different cultures. I love animals, and have a brilliant West Highland Terrier at home, who is really like a third child to me.

Dr. Antonella Trache

General Dentist with practice limited to Oral Surgery

I graduated from dentistry from the University of Alberta in 1993. While still in dental school, I joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a dental officer. The military afforded me a vast array of memorable and valuable experiences from both professional and personal perspectives. After practicing general dentistry for 11 years, I was selected to undertake postgraduate studies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas. The 4 year program was intensive, covering clinic-based and hospital based cases in dentoalveolar surgery and trauma surgery. I returned to Canada in 2008 as the Atlantic Region Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Halifax. In 2010, I was posted back home to Edmonton as the Western Region Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma Surgeon at the Role 3 Multinational Hospital at Kandahar Air Base. After a military career that spanned over 2 decades, I decided to take my release from the Canadian Forces as of December 10, 2013. I continue to enjoy dentistry and involvement in patient treatment, and it will be my privilege to be able to address your dentoalveolar, pre-prosthetic and dental implant surgery needs as part of your overall comprehensive oral care and health.

I hold general practice dental licenses in Alberta and Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as a specialty license in Newfoundland and Labrador. I am and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support instructor with the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation and a provider in Advanced Trauma Life Support. I have been invited to present of number of lectures and workshops in my field to various military and civilian organizations and study clubs throughout the country.

My partner, John, and I are raising a spirited and very active 10 year old daughter. In our spare time, we love to cook and travel. My daughter and I also bond over passion for drawing and painting, which we find to be a very relaxing and enjoyable hobby.

I just wanted to send an update.
We got Sidney's tongue tie and lip tie revised 2 weeks ago today. Her top lip is looking great, she has great mobility and the stretches have really helped her lip muscles loosen up. I'm so pleased with the results.
Her tongue has gotten hard to stretch as she has figured out how to wiggle her tongue around to avoid the fingers, which I'm taking as a great sign. She's really learning how to move it around. When I eventually get under her tongue, there seems to be a bit of reattachment/regrowth, but since the mobility is there I'm not concerned. Just more motivation to keep up on the stretches, which she only mildly complains about these days.
I'm so happy to have a skilled dentist here in town to help her little mouth out. Keep up the good work.

Callie S.

Dear Dr. Boldt,
We've just made it to the two week mark since our tongue tie and upper lip revision with you. I just wanted to thank you for doing such a thorough revision and going deep enough to really make a difference. Since the night of the revision my son Denzel (5.5 months) began sleeping 9 hours continuously out of 12 through the night (as opposed to his usual 3-4 before needing to nurse) he also began pooping daily as opposed to every few days. Nursing is now pain free and his upper lip is no longer STIFF. I am so grateful to have someone in Edmonton skilled enough to understand and rectify his tt with Laser.

Denzel's Mom

Great experience! The staff are wonderful and it was easy to get an appointment at a time that suited us. My kids (5&7) loved the video games in the waiting area and the TV on the ceiling in the exam room.
